This week we sat down with Will Hodgess, a 34-year-old artist based in NYC. Will moved from London, UK to NYC and was suffering from headaches, sinus pressure, and extreme fatigue . He visited multiple GP’s and specialists, had X-rays, CAT scans, MRI’s yet nobody was able to find the root cause of his symptoms.
After realizing it was time to look at the bigger picture and dig deeper into his symptoms, he came to Parsley. This is Will’s story of how he was able to drastically improve his energy levels, increase his brain function, and overall feel better than he has in years.
I work in the creative industry (branding and design). I’m 34 years old and originally from London. I have been in NY 4.5 years. I’m an open water swimmer, love photography and creating custom artworks. I am also a huge fan of food 🙂
I am usually very healthy and active. However, since moving to NYC I tended to get sick around the same time every year (Oct/Nov). In 2015, I got sick and never got better. I had headaches, intense sinus pressure, and fatigue . I later found out, that much of this fatigue was due to work-related stress.
I saw three GP’s, five specialists, had X-rays, CAT scans, MRI’s and even an operation on my sinuses (Balloon sinoplasty) and nothing helped. Because each specialist was treating me in their specialized area, vs. connecting the dots and looking at the bigger picture, none of them were improving my quality of life. It was like the healthcare version of pass the buck.
My girlfriend put me on to it. I needed a solution and conventional health care had failed me.
Dr. Link took the time to really dig into my symptoms and lifestyle. Her approach was thoughtful, human and refreshingly distant from the more profit-centric approach of healthcare professionals I’d seen to date.
After I was advised to change my diet, monitor stress and regulate sleep , I feel the best I have in two years. My energy levels are through the roof and I no longer suffer from fatigue. My brain function has also vastly improved.
After working with Parsley , I’ve become a lot more productive, and much happier and physically active too.
The fact that the professionals don’t seem to be as profit-driven as the rest of the industry means that (like most other developed countries) they are actually trying to improve your health vs. make money from you.
Many people go for a long time feeling worn out and blaming the fatigue on stress or work, but experiencing these symptoms over a long period of time can really take a toll. Workin with a doctor who will do the proper testing to determine the root cause of these symptoms can help. At Parsley Health, our doctors typically find that with a combination of dietary, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations, it’s possible to bounce back and boost your energy levels.
